A BBC Documentary All Christians Should Watch Before Voting for a Mormon Candidate
This past August and September I wrote a pair of thoughtful posts about why I couldn’t in good conscience vote for a Mormon presidential candidate. Here are the links:

Last Thursday I came across a BBC documentary entitled “This World: The Mormon Candidate.” It’s ridiculously good. I suspect it would be illuminating to many, especially fellow evangelicals. As well-intentioned as we tend to be, most of us simply don’t know about the insidious culture, bizarre beliefs, secretive practices, domineering governance, and political ambitions of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It won’t happen, of course, but in my opinion all Christians should watch this documentary before election day. I’m not saying this should change anyone’s vote. I am saying that we need to be informed before casting our ballots. It seems to me that we, as Christians, need to think not only about national debt, economics, civil liberties, health care, foreign policy, religious freedom, and the like, but also the often neglected, underlying spiritual realities. In other words, before voting for a Mormon candidate people need to know what they believe, what they aim to accomplish, and what it might mean for the Body of Christ. I urge you to reflect on these things while watching the video below.
